I’m a sucker for the minimal, simple black and white geometric patterns and gorgeous typography – this branding for A-Books fits all the criteria and receives Logoholic’s Branding Showcase of the Month for November.

Coming across this brand project on Behance: See Here I struggled to find more information on the project. The A-Books website has all the written information embedded within images, so Google Translate isn’t much use – as far as I can make out, A-Books is a South Korean distributor and producer of custom, bespoke books. Designed by Chiugraf and Jong Won Choi, what really caught my eye was the repeating pattern of the logo on the white backdrop.

Apart from simply being a visually intriguing pattern, it acts as suggestion of a selection or range of products, each sitting ready to be printed. The black on white relates directly and perfectly to the printing mindset of ink on paper, something that seems emphasised throughout the brand. Nonetheless, if you look at the usage examples below, you’ll see how they’ve designed a beautiful packaging system which both fits the brand and the product.
