Sam Weston, a third year Graphic Design student studying at the University of Lincoln has offered up a fairly solid Pepsi logo redesign and rebrand.
You can’t argue that the simplicity works well, and the current logo certainly has it’s haters (see below). My only concern is that, despite Pepsi’s almost regular rebranding efforts, they always strive to hold onto the red and blue colours. Sam’s suggestion loses the red, most likely in an attempt to simplify as far as possible, but I doubt if they were to simplify they would want to reduce so far as to lose an associated brand colour.
