Vintage Logos

Making things ‘vintage’ seems to be all the rage in logo design these days. Scratches, textures and grain all appear to call back to the desire of designers to have a physical product, weathered by use; as supposed to the sometimes soulless digital cleanliness of their logo on a white backdrop. Others view this appeal for vintage as ‘hipster’ – with the Hipster branding series being an obvious reference.
Marisa Passos, a 24 years old graphic & web designer from Portugal has come up with a huge set of logos set onto vintage emblem backdrops – some of which, like Adidas, I could see easily representing a vintage collection of clothing. The full set can be found here.
